BIOGRAPHY

Valter D’Errico, born in Turin to a father from Apulia and a mother from Abruzzo on July 22, 1968, is a producer, director, actor, and screenwriter.

At the age of 13, he begins attending Luca Ronconi’s school at the Teatro Stabile in Turin. He also studies with Anna Bolens, Gianni Diotiaiuti, and Tonino Pierfederici.

He makes his acting debut at the age of 23 with Pupi Avati in the films “L’ARCANO INCANTATORE” and “FESTIVAL” with Margaret Mazzantini. He then continues to work with the Avati family, playing his first co-lead role in “TI AMO MARIA” alongside Carlo Delle Piane.

At the age of 26, he moves to Los Angeles to study acting at UCLA and Santa Monica College.

After 4 years, he returns to Italy and works with Maestro Kristof Zanussi in the film “IL SOLE NERO” with Valeria Golino, as well as in TV series such as “DISTRETTO DI POLIZIA, CARABINIERI, ORGOGLIO, GENTE DI MARE, UN CASO DI COSCIENZA, IL BENE E IL MALE,” and several others.

He hosts a live broadcast of the New Year’s concert on “Rai International.”

He works with Carmine Amoroso in “COVER BOY” and with Romano Scavolini in the films “TWO FAMILIES” and “L’APOCALISSE DELLE SCIMMIE,” where he also takes on the role of co-producer for the first time.

He later writes “SOLO 5 MINUTI” directed by Filippo Soldi, starring Valeria Golino. The work is well-received and is nominated for the “Best Short Film” category in the “David di Donatello” awards.

He then directs the short film “TE LO GIURO SU” with Carlo Delle Piane and Lidia Vitale.

From 2011, he decides to focus more on production and directing.

He produces the film “CINQUE – 5,” which receives critical acclaim in cinemas and marks the debut of Alessandro Borghi, Francesco Arca, Alessandro Tersigni, and Giorgia Whurt as protagonists.

In 2016, he directs “BELLO DI MAMMA TUA” with Laura Lattuada and Pino Strabioli, receiving several awards including the “Raf Vallone National Cinematography Award” for “Best Short Film” in Tropea, and the “Audience Award” at the “International Film Festival Terra di Siena.”

He also produces the documentary “HOLLYWOOD IN ROME” featuring Oscar-winning filmmaker Paul Haggis.

In 2018, he writes, produces, and directs the Italian-French music video for the song “SALE” by Maria Federica Selvi, featuring Loredana Cannata.

In collaboration with Jo Champa and Susan Rockefeller, he produces the short film “IL GIORNO PIÙ BELLO” in 2019, featuring Gianclaudio Caretta and Caterina Milicchio, for which he also handles the screenplay and direction.

In 2019, he was a producer of “IL PICCOLO MAGO” (Winner of the “Out-of-Competition Section” at the Giffoni Film Festival).

He then served as a co-producer of the film “IN THE TRAP” with David Bailie, Robert Nairne, Jamie Paul, Sonya Cullingford.

(European premiere at the “38th Festival Terror Molins” – Internationally distributed in cinemas: 6/12/2019 – Vietnam; 20/02/2020 – Russia; 26/03/2020 – Italy; 10/04/2020 – Taiwan. Followed by releases in the United States, Canada, South Korea, Egypt, Lebanon).

He is currently in the process of writing his debut feature film as a director for the cinema.
